We did it!

We did it!
October 5, 2020 Allison Burke

We are really thrilled to let you know that £1.67 million for the project to regenerate St Peter’s into a vibrant community cultural venue has been granted by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and this means that St Peter’s future will be bright and water tight!

We extend a huge thanks to the National Lottery and all National Lottery players because without you this grant would not be possible.

Thanks also to the generosity of Babergh District Council and the New Anglia LEP Growing Places Fund, The John Paul Getty Jr Foundation, Sudbury Town Council and all who have donated to our fundraising, our Fundraising Campaign Board, and also to the people of Sudbury who made it possible for the Friends to donate over £100,000 to this project.

To all individuals and organisations that have assisted throughout the development of the project we extend our gratitude.  Last but by no means least, to the wonderful volunteers, past and present, that have for many years helped to keep St Peter’s alive in the heart of our community: you are invaluable!

This news means that we expect the on site work to commence in October 2021 and anticipate that St Peter’s will reopen in 2023.  Keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for updates.
