Photography Day at St Peter’s

Saturday, 12th September, 2020 |11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Its photography day on September 12 in St Peter’s.

You will have a chance to show off your best Sudbury photos in a video montage that will play all day in St Peter’s.

You can take pictures of parts of St Peter’s you have never seen before and get them added to the video montage on the day.

We will have local camera clubs showing off members pictures and they will be there to answer your questions.

There will be demonstrations of the earliest form of photography dating back to the 1850s when it was done with glass plates, lots of nasty chemicals and you needed enough equipment with you to fill a small room.

Tours of the church roof will also be held for small groups of photographers to take pictures of Sudbury from on high.

In addition, a special self guided walking trail taking in the three medieval churches in Sudbury, starting at St Peter’s and visiting St Gregory’s and All Saints is available by clicking here.

Send in your Sudbury photos: If you want your photo included in the video montage then send a link to your photo to with your name and phone number and any detail you want included on your photo.

Church roof tours: There will be three small group tours of the nave roof for photographers with people signing up on the day, on a first come first served basis.  Camera club members will have priority booking.  You will need to be 18 or over, moderately fit and agile with sensible shoes to take part in these tours.

Timings on the demonstrations and roof tours will be available shortly.

All activities will be held under social distancing conditions.
